Mazi Osigwe Takes Office as New NBA President

Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has been officially inaugurated as the 32nd President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Lagos.

Replacing Mr. Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, Osigwe commences his term today.

In his speech, Osigwe emphasized the NBA’s duty to ensure governments are held accountable for their actions, specifically in justice, equity, and the rule of law.

Recognizing the crucial role of the legal profession, he assured alignment of government policies with the interests of Nigerians.

He urged for immediate measures to enhance security, protect human rights, and offer vital services like education, healthcare, and job opportunities to all citizens.

Mazi Afam Osigwe committed to prioritizing lawyers’ welfare and professional growth during his tenure.

He highlighted the NBA’s commitment to center its efforts around its members. “We are dedicated to fulfilling our promise of creating an NBA that revolves around the well-being of lawyers,” said Osigwe.
