Law Student Honors Slain Cross-dresser in Final Year Project

Obinna Joseph Okwesili, a student at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), paid tribute to the late Abuja Area Mama in his final year project. Also known as Chantelle, the victim, Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, was tragically killed in Abuja.

Chantelle’s body was discovered on the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on August 8, 2024. Okwesili revealed on August 28 that his research project on the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act in Nigeria was dedicated to the memory of Chantelle.

He expressed his sentiments, “Finished my final year project today and thought it is most meritorious to be dedicated to Abuja Area Mama whose life, though different, was fullest in its living. Rest well, Ifeanyi Benedict (Chantelle).”
