A protest took place in Warri and Effurun in Delta state as residents expressed their frustration with the recent surge in petrol prices.
Market women and Keke riders carrying placards flooded the streets, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step in and reverse the fuel price hike.
The demonstrators held signs demanding immediate action from Tinubu to alleviate the hardships faced by commuters and to expedite the operations of Warri and Kaduna refineries. Roads were blocked as the protesters voiced their discontent.
Many fuel stations in the region remain closed, with the few open ones selling fuel for over N1,000 per litre.
