Jax Taylor, a star from reality television, shared his fears about leaving rehab. He discovered that the treatment center provided him with much-needed structure during his recovery journey from substance abuse.
Taylor gained fame on Vanderpump Rules between 2013 and 2020 and has recently joined The Valley in 2024. He initially started his career as a model, appearing in publications like GQ Japan and Men’s Health.
After admitting himself to rehab due to a decline in his life, the 45-year-old realized that the fear of leaving was greater than the initial shock of entering. The structure and routine he established there gave him a comforting sense of security, and he became frightened of what awaited him outside.
“I f**king hated it,” Taylor expressed on the “When Reality Hits with Brittany and Jax” podcast about his early rehab days. “Then I got into it, and I loved it.”
He continued, “I didn’t want to f**king leave. I was really sad, crying that I didn’t want to go.”
He described how the daily regimen of waking up, eating breakfast, engaging in reading, and being part of the rehabilitation community provided him with comfort.
Taylor Remains Resilient Despite Personal Challenges
His struggles may have contributed to the breakdown of his marriage with Brittany Cartwright, a relationship that spanned from 2015 until their divorce in January 2024, citing irreconcilable differences.
Despite the circumstances, Taylor seems to be managing his situation, even though he anticipated a negative reaction from others.
He remarked, “I know the world is going to come at me hard. I’ll have to resume filming my show, and I know everyone is upset with me.”
Expressing his fears, he stated, “I was just like, ‘I’m so scared.’ It’s been overwhelming, but I am handling it.”
