Ryan Murphy, the genius behind Grotesquerie, has revealed Taylor Swift’s invaluable advice to her partner, NFL player Travis Kelce, as he enters the acting scene. Kelce, making his acting debut in Murphy’s new FX series, has taken Swift’s supportive words to heart, courageously facing the demands of acting.
Murphy, famed for American Horror Story, discussed Kelce’s journey in overcoming nerves about acting, stating, “He entered this realizing it would be a bit intimidating, and it was.” Nevertheless, with Taylor’s steadfast encouragement, Kelce managed to confront the challenge directly.
Murphy shared that Taylor offered her boyfriend a crucial piece of guidance. “Taylor wholeheartedly supports him, and if he’s interested, she encouraged him to pursue it,” he mentioned to E! News at the Grotesquerie premiere in New York on September 23. “I was excited about that.”
Murphy commended Kelce’s dedication, highlighting that the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs memorized an entire scene rewrite in just 10 minutes, impressing the director. “He’s incredibly intelligent and has a lot to offer,” Murphy stated. “If Travis Kelce aims to be a major film star, he can certainly achieve it.”

Despite this being his first significant acting role, Murphy noted that Kelce required minimal direction. “A star is a star is a star—and he’s a star,” Murphy asserted. “He’s incredibly charismatic, intelligent, and a pleasure to collaborate with.”
Kelce’s strong work ethic on set left a mark on the American Horror Story creator. “He was familiar with everyone’s lines,” Murphy recounted, adding that Kelce was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, showcasing the same leadership he exhibits on the football field.
Travis Kelce shares the screen with Niecy Nash in the debut episode of Grotesquerie, scheduled to premiere on September 25 on FX and to stream on Hulu the following day.
