The granddaughter of Elvis Presley, revealed that Lisa Marie had an instinctive awareness of something being amiss on the day he passed away. The revelation came as she conveyed her fears that the legendary musician might die before the night was over.
At just nine years old, Lisa Marie sensed that things were “off” on August 15, 1977, just a few hours before the iconic artist was discovered deceased due to a heart attack, leaving fans heartbroken worldwide.
Riley Keough, the daughter of Lisa, shared these insights during her first TV interview with Oprah Winfrey since her mother’s passing in January 2023 at the age of 54.
“When she said goodnight to him, I think she had a feeling about it,” Keough remarked in an Instagram clip. “It was like she had a sense about his situation.”
She added, “There were moments when Lisa would find him looking unwell, holding onto the railing just to stay upright.”
“As a child, she wrote letters expressing her hopes that her dad wouldn’t die, showing she had a certain intuition.”
The Cause of Elvis’s Death
Elvis was discovered unresponsive in the bathroom of his Graceland residence in Tennessee by his fiancée, Ginger Alden, and was subsequently taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Though a heart attack was the official cause of death, issues like prescription drug abuse were prominent factors. At 42 years old, his system contained painkillers, tranquilizers, and sedatives.
The high-pressure lifestyle Elvis led, marked by demanding performance schedules and poor dietary choices, likely contributed to his health decline.
As of October 2024, it is estimated that Elvis has sold between 500 million and a billion records globally.
