Comedian and actor Bovi believes women are currently leading and thriving in the Nigerian entertainment scene.

He shared his views on the TVC show, ‘Your View,’ highlighting that women often express concerns about inequality, even in fields where they have made significant strides.

Bovi cited influential figures such as Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, and Bolanle Austin-Peters, emphasizing their prominence as top producers in Nollywood.

He remarked, “Women need to recognize that in some areas they may already be victorious in their equality battles but may not realize it due to their ongoing quest for fairness.”

“When discussing the entertainment industry and its impact on women, I noticed over a decade ago that women were effectively steering this industry. What else is there to discuss?”

“Since the era of Amaka Igwe, women have produced the top box office hits like Funke Akindele and Mo Abudu. The influence extends to top directors such as Kemi Adetiba and Jade Osiberu, and the premier film festival is run by Chioma Ode. What more can be said?”

“There are also talents like Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo, and Genevieve Nnaji, who all contribute to women’s leadership in entertainment. So when I hear young women voice grievances about male producers expecting favors for roles, I have to ask – who have they turned to for help? Women genuinely lead this industry.”
