Hanna Alolaimi and her spouse, Omar Bishtawi, have been charged with plotting to murder a man with whom she was involved in an extramarital affair over the past weekend.
The Houston Police Department arrived at the scene of a reported attempted murder at a Chick-fil-A location on Westheimer around 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 19.
On Monday, October 21, the couple appeared in court, facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and assault.
Legal documents indicate that Alolaimi was engaged in the affair with a man who is also married.
“It has been claimed that both of you were married, and when the complainant learned of the affair, he opted to end your relationship,” stated a magistrate.
Instead of accepting the situation, Alolaimi allegedly plotted to kill and abduct her lover.
Court documents describe how she enlisted her husband’s help to hide in the backseat while setting up a meeting with the victim.
At the time, the man was working as a DoorDash driver and had just picked up an order at Chick-fil-A.
“It has been alleged that you (Alolaimi) signaled to the victim, who then entered your vehicle,” the magistrate explained.
Reports indicate that Alolaimi and the victim frequently met behind a nearby Target.
This location is close to the apartment complex where both resided.
On the night of the incident, Alolaimi deliberately chose Chick-fil-A to lure him to their usual rendezvous point.
“(Alolaimi) attempted to drive away with the victim, despite him explaining that he had a delivery to complete,” the magistrate mentioned.
Details presented in court suggested the victim was unaware that Alolaimi’s husband was in the car.
“Your husband jumped out from underneath a curtain in the backseat. He placed the victim in a chokehold and pressed a gun to his head,” the magistrate revealed.
According to witnesses, when the victim attempted to escape, Bishtawi shot him—once in the leg and once in the foot.
“This could have resulted in death due to extensive bleeding,” the magistrate added.
After fleeing, the couple later contacted the police to turn themselves in.
During questioning, they provided inconsistent accounts of the events.
As a result, they have been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.
