The police in Nam Dan District, Nghe An, have taken action against a high school student for allegedly forcing a peer to eat dirt and smoke cigarettes without inhaling.
On October 25, authorities formally charged P.T.N., an 11th-grade student born in 2008 from Nam Anh Commune, with “Humiliation of Others.” This charge has received approval from the local prosecutor’s office. Given that P.T.N. is a minor, the police have placed restrictions on his movement, confining him to his home.
Previously, on October 19 at around 9 PM, near a rice field in Hamlet 7, P.T.N., along with another individual, N.V.T., born in 2010, compelled V.H.D., a 9th grader from Anh Xuan Secondary School, to smoke cigarettes without inhaling and to eat dirt and mud. This incident was recorded and subsequently circulated on social media.
Following the report, the Nam Dan District Police, under the guidance of district authorities, teamed up with local police from Nam Anh Commune to investigate the matter.
After reviewing the evidence, officials determined there was enough information to charge P.T.N. with the offense of “Humiliation of Others.”
