Beloved BIM Group Founder Doan Quoc Viet Leaves Behind a Lasting Legacy

Vietnam’s BIM Group founder Doan Quoc Viet passes away

Tribute to a Visionary Leader

The BIM Group announced the unfortunate passing of Mr. Viet, a significant loss felt deeply by his family and the company’s workforce of 7,000 employees.

Legacy of Growth

Under Mr. Viet’s direction, BIM Group evolved into one of Vietnam’s prominent multi-sector enterprises, impacting not just the local market but also extending its reach beyond the country.

A Journey in Education and Entrepreneurship

As highlighted by Forbes, Mr. Viet was an accomplished individual, holding a PhD in physics. His international education began as an Eastern European student. Together with his wife, he embarked on their business venture in Poland before returning to Vietnam to further their entrepreneurial aspirations.

Foundation of BIM Group

BIM Group was founded in 1994, starting with the construction of the Ha Long Plaza Hotel and later diversifying into aquaculture, real estate, and renewable energy sectors.

Diverse Operations Today

Today, BIM Group stands as a private corporation operating across various sectors including real estate, agriculture and food production, renewable energy, and consumer services.

Real Estate Ventures

In real estate, the company boasts extensive land assets in regions like Quang Ninh, Phu Quoc, Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Thuan, and even in Laos. BIM Group partners with leading firms such as Hyatt and InterContinental Hotels Group, enhancing its market presence.

Investment in Renewable Energy

Through its subsidiary, BIM Energy, the company is heavily invested in renewable solutions, particularly solar and wind energy in Ninh Thuan. The facilities are strategically placed on a 2,500-hectare salt field, establishing Vietnam’s largest green economic zone dedicated to clean energy and salt production.

Future Goals

BIM Group’s investment in Ninh Thuan amounts to 12 trillion VND, with a vision of achieving at least 1 GW of clean energy, harnessing solar and wind, by the year 2025.

Leadership Continuity

Currently, Mr. Viet’s son, Doan Quoc Huy, holds the position of Vice Chairman and is responsible for overseeing real estate and energy investments, while his daughter, Doan Thanh Mai, manages tourism and marketing initiatives.
