The Mr. World 2024 competition wrapped up on November 23 in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, following nearly a month of events featuring over 60 competitors from different countries. Danny Mejia from Puerto Rico took home the title of Mr. World 2024, while Vietnam’s own Pham Tuan Ngoc earned the first runner-up honor.
The second runner-up title was awarded to Antonio Company from Spain, followed by Felipe Salvador Maria from Angola as the third runner-up.
The grand finale began with a colorful “Dance of the World” segment in which participants presented various traditional performances. Pham Tuan Ngoc represented Vietnam, captivating the audience with his flute-playing and martial arts skills while dressed in an ao ba ba and scarf.
Sri Lanka’s national costume won the audience’s vote, while the judges selected South Sudan for the same accolade.
The contestants showcased the Vietnamese ao dai in a vibrant parade themed “Thang Long Tu Tru” (Four Pillars of Thang Long), featuring elaborate dragon and phoenix embroidery that reflected the country’s cultural richness.
Next, the focus shifted to a lively sportswear segment, where the contestants displayed their physical fitness and coordinated movements, delighting the crowd.
Following the sportswear showcase, the Top 20 finalists were announced, including representatives from Puerto Rico (who received two special awards: Sports and Talent), the USA (Head-to-Head Challenge), Turkey (Top Model), Italy (Multimedia), Myanmar (Beauty with a Purpose), and Vietnam.
The rest of the Top 20 included contestants from Peru, Belgium, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, the Czech Republic, Angola, Kenya, India, Lebanon, and the Philippines.
The excitement continued as the Top 10 were revealed, featuring contestants from Puerto Rico, Venezuela, the Czech Republic, Spain, Angola, Kenya, India, Turkey, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka. These finalists then entered the Q&A phase, where their responses on social and global topics played a critical role in the outcome.
The final four contestants – Puerto Rico, Spain, Angola, and Vietnam – presented compelling messages. Danny Mejia from Puerto Rico discussed overcoming obstacles, while Pham Tuan Ngoc from Vietnam highlighted social media’s ability to drive community impact.
Antonio Company from Spain spoke about the warmth of Vietnamese hospitality, whereas Felipe Salvador Maria from Angola emphasized the importance of cultural love and unity.
In a thrilling conclusion, Danny Mejia was crowned Mr. World 2024, recognized for his charisma and positive message. Pham Tuan Ngoc’s achievement as first runner-up was a source of pride for Vietnam as the host country.
