The Governor emphasized that the MTEF/FSP outlines his administration’s financial strategy with aims like economic diversification, institutional reforms, enhancing health and education sectors, improving infrastructure, and promoting sustainable urban housing projects.

During his presentation, he stated, “The MTEF/FSP provides a three-year fiscal roadmap and forms the basis for the 2025 budget. It offers a comprehensive macroeconomic and fiscal framework for 2025–2027. This document aligns with the Section 16(1) and (2) of the Plateau State Fiscal Responsibility Law from 2014.

He continued, “This ensures that resources are effectively directed towards key sectors, showcasing our commitment to transparency and accountability in line with international standards.

The proposed 2025 budget stands at ₦471,134,093,541.00, marking a rise of ₦156,278,944,988.00 from the previous year’s budget.

“The 2025 Appropriation Bill underlines our dedication to building on previous successes to foster the ongoing advancement of Plateau State,” he noted.

He detailed that the budget’s execution will align with the Plateau Strategic Development Framework (PSDF) 2023–2027, structured around three core policies: Peace, Security, and Good Governance; Sustainable Economic Rebirth; and Physical Infrastructure Development. This budget is designed to be community-focused, aiming to enhance the lives of Plateau’s residents.

Governor Mutfwang called on the Assembly to promptly pass the bill, stressing that “Timely approval will allow us to quickly commence essential projects.

Speaker Gabriel Dewan responded by assuring the Governor that the Assembly is dedicated to prioritizing the interests of Plateau State.
