Mariah Carey, the renowned singer, is set to reveal troubling family secrets in a forthcoming hearing related to a $1.25 million defamation lawsuit filed by her brother, Morgan Carey.

Morgan initiated legal action against Mariah in 2021 after she accused him of past acts of violence and drug-related offenses.
“Most of the time, I felt like I needed to shield myself from him, and I often found myself protecting my mother,” Mariah noted. “It was widely known that [Morgan] was heavily involved in the Manhattan nightlife, often possessing and supplying cocaine.”
Denouncing these claims, Morgan labeled them as harmful and inaccurate: “They are false, defamatory, and deeply invasive and painful.”
The family strife intensified recently with the simultaneous deaths of their mother, Patricia, 63, and Alison, who struggled with addiction, in August. This incident has prompted additional legal disputes related to Mariah’s memoir.
Despite the turmoil, Mariah is fully engaged in her Christmas activities, known for her seasonal contributions, as she markets holiday decoration ideas and products on Amazon while promoting her iconic song, ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’, which generates around $3 million annually.
