Did Jimmy Fallon Show Up ‘Tipsy’ to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade?

Fans wonder if Jimmy Fallon arrived 'drunk' at Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has wrapped up, but social media users seemed more amused by Jimmy Fallon during his appearance.

Despite standing in the rain with an umbrella, the 50-year-old was seen sporting black sunglasses at the event.

This prompted many on social media to speculate whether the Tonight Show host was trying to hide evidence of a night of partying.

One user commented, “Jimmy Fallon clearly partied hard and woke up to be a part of the parade,” while another questioned, “Is Jimmy Fallon drunk at 8:45am?”

Someone else noted, “Jimmy Fallon in sunglasses during the rain embodies the hangover spirit many can relate to today.”

Another quipped, “Drunk Jimmy Fallon with shades in a rainstorm,” while one more added humorously, “Sunglasses in the rain is peak Jimmy Fallon.”

While many made jokes about his appearance, others came to his defense.

One user asked, “Why all the negativity towards Jimmy? His use of sunglasses in the rain is just part of his humor.”

Fallon’s Sunglasses Tradition

This isn’t the first instance of Fallon choosing sunglasses for the parade. He has previously worn glasses that can record video, providing a unique perspective on the festivities.

He was accompanied by Black Thought from The Roots, who also donned sunglasses during the parade.

A source told DailyMail.com that the late-night host, along with his band, made the conscious decision to wear sunglasses.

“His band, including The Roots, rehearsed in their sunglasses. It was pouring, and they had to move quickly,” the insider shared.

The 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade featured a star-studded lineup, including performances by Jennifer Hudson and Idina Menzel.

This year’s event showcased 17 giant character balloons, 22 floats, 15 novelty inflatables, 11 marching bands, 700 clowns, 10 performance groups, and appearances by award-winning artists and the WNBA champion New York Liberty.

Despite the downpour, the parade proceeded smoothly, having been canceled only three times since its inception in 1924.
