Vin Diesel’s unexpected social media post

In a recent Thanksgiving post, Vin Diesel, the leading star, shared updates about the uncertain status of Fast X: Part 2, the sequel to Fast X.

This announcement, shared on Thursday, was more concerning than many anticipated.

“I have Universal demanding Fast X2 by March 2026! Meanwhile, Concast insists we need two films to wrap things up! Plus, the writer from Fast Five sent me an image urging us to resolve DOM and HOBBS’ differences,” Diesel expressed in his statement.

“I long for genuine street racing, real stunts… and a reunion of that tight-knit family. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving…”

The post reveals the tangled dynamics at play regarding the movie’s production.

Despite Fast X earning $704 million worldwide, it didn’t meet the franchise’s prior successes, raising concerns about the future of the sequel.

Diesel’s comments highlight that the studio has different visions for the story’s direction, particularly regarding the important role of Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs character.

Adding to the complications, Johnson is currently busy with Disney’s Moana live-action project, raising uncertainties about his return to the Fast & Furious films in the near future.

The push from Universal for two additional films to conclude the saga may reduce budgets to improve profitability, potentially jeopardizing the franchise’s future.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of Fast & Furious in 2026, Diesel’s frustrations seem to be reaching a peak.

Fans can only hope the series returns to its essence of thrilling car stunts and the camaraderie that made it beloved.
