Bello Turji’s Violent Threats Following Ally’s Arrest

 

Bello Turji, a well-known bandit leader, has spoken out after the capture of his close companion, Bako Wurgi.

 

He has made threats of violence against local communities in response to Wurgi’s arrest.

 

Wurgi plays a pivotal role in Turji’s operations, especially in negotiating ransoms and dealing with hostages.

 

According to security specialist Zagazola Makama, the arrest of Wurgi has sparked Turji’s anger.

 

Makama noted that Turji has already reached out to significant figures in the Shinkafi region, like village leaders, warning them that he might attack their areas if they do not help in securing Wurgi’s freedom from authorities.

 

Additionally, Turji has vowed to “invest any resources or livestock needed to guarantee that Wurgi is set free.”

 

Turji reportedly commands a large following and considerable livestock, which he intends to use as leverage against security forces.

 

Recently, it was reported that soldiers from the Nigerian Army’s 1 Brigade apprehended Wurgi, who is also known as Baka NaGarba.

 

Wurgi is infamous for his arms dealing and is believed to have been involved in the assassination of the Emir of Gobir, Alhaji Isa Mohammad Bawa, in Sokoto State.
