The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, recently administered the oath to six newly appointed judges of the State High Court.
He emphasized that this move is part of his commitment to ensuring safety and security for the residents of Akwa Ibom.
The judges—Umohandi Winifred, Ekanem James, Essien Iwakowo, Morrison Henry, Ntekim Ekpo, and Eddie Julius—were officially sworn in on Monday.
Governor Eno noted that the addition of these judges would contribute to accelerating criminal trials and enforcing justice as per legal standards.
He reiterated his dedication to upholding the rule of law while serving the community.
“As part of our commitment to keeping Akwa Ibom State secure for both residents and visitors, I was pleased to swear in six new High Court judges as advised by the National Judicial Council,” he stated.
“This enhancement to our judiciary will facilitate more efficient criminal trials and the execution of legal penalties. Our goal is to serve the public and uphold the rule of law, ensuring a society free from criminal activities, and we will maintain this effort.
“I extend my congratulations to the newly appointed judges on this significant achievement, which reflects their professional excellence and strong judicial backgrounds. I trust they will leverage their experiences to positively influence our judicial system,” he shared on his X account.
