As reported in the 2024-2025 Recruitment Market Report by Top CV, Vietnam’s labor market is evolving rapidly, with programmers and technology engineers being the most sought-after professionals.
In comparison to other sectors, those in the IT-software field show a remarkable level of job stability, highlighting their cautious approach focused on long-term sustainability.
Despite the recent economic challenges affecting various industries, a significant 35.6% of workers surveyed in the IT sector indicated they do not plan to switch jobs.
Many enterprises have shifted to a multitasking workforce model, which has led to dissatisfaction among IT professionals, with 94.12% expressing unhappiness regarding this shift.
The report indicates that the primary cause for IT professionals leaving their jobs is insufficient recognition and treatment, reported by 34.1% of those surveyed.
The competitive landscape of the tech industry, particularly with the rise of well-funded startups, intensifies the pressure on tech companies to maintain their talent.
Financial Rewards in the IT Sector
The IT field continues to be lucrative, offering promising income opportunities. Interns in software and technology can earn between VND3-5 million, while those with under one year of experience make around VND7-11 million.
Professionals with 1-3 years of experience can expect salaries ranging from VND10-20 million, while experts with over three years earn between VND16-24.5 million.
Higher roles, such as team leaders, can receive VND19-35 million, and managerial positions can fetch between VND27-52 million.
Young talent is particularly drawn to the IT-sector due to its appealing salary structure. For example, web developers with under one year of experience earn VND10.8-17.5 million, while their counterparts with over five years can make VND30-47 million.
Game developers see starting salaries of VND9.5-14.4 million for those with less than one year of experience, and VND30-47 million for those with more than five years.
Network administrators and system security officers earn slightly less, with network engineers starting at VND5.7-10.5 million, which can rise to VND14-19 million with experience.
Security specialists can start from VND7-12 million, with salaries increasing to VND25.7-37.7 million for those with significant experience in the field.
Data-related positions, including data officers and AI specialists, have starting salaries between VND9-15 million, with experienced professionals earning VND30-50 million or more.

Apart from competitive salaries, IT professionals also benefit from flexible work arrangements, such as remote working options. Freelancing permits many domestic IT experts to collaborate with international companies.
