Public Holidays Announced for Christmas Celebrations
The Federal Government has officially designated certain days as public holidays in celebration of the upcoming Christmas festivities.
The holidays will occur on Wednesday, December 25th, Thursday, December 26th, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1st, 2025.
These dates are recognized for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, respectively.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement that was also endorsed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
The Minister encouraged all Nigerians to take this time to contemplate the underlying values of love, peace, and unity connected to the holiday season.
He highlighted that this is an essential period for promoting harmony and strengthening relationships within families and communities.
The statement further noted: “The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal.”
“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences.”
