Cheryl Cole, the pop star and ex-partner of Liam Payne, has sought police assistance for the safety of her son, fearing for their well-being after enduring a stalking incident from a convicted killer.
In light of this frightening experience, Cole has taken immediate action to enhance security measures at her luxurious $6 million home, where she resides with her seven-year-old son, Bear, as reported by RadarOnline.com.
The British singer described feeling violated at her residence in a tranquil part of England, especially while coping with the recent and shocking loss of the former One Direction member.
Cheryl Cole’s alarming stalking ordeal
Cole disclosed that the attack was perpetrated by a man exhibiting “obsessive, fixated, unwanted, and repetitive behavior,” who has a history of criminal activity, including a manslaughter conviction from 2012, resulting in a 30-month prison sentence.
This situation has instilled in Cheryl a profound fear that her son might grow up without parents if the harassment escalates, compounding her emotional distress as she is still “grieving her son’s father’s death”, while facing threats from “a convicted murderer stalking her at home while she is with her child.”
According to the report, she noticed the stalker’s presence on two separate occasions within weeks, which left her traumatized, prompting her to implement stringent security protocols to prevent further incidents.
The stalker, identified as 49-year-old Daniel Bannister, was previously subjected to a three-year restraining order against Cole and had served a four-month sentence for a violation earlier in the year. This order mandates that he must not contact Cole, enter Buckinghamshire, or even approach his own residence.
Despite the restraining order, Bannister broke into Cole’s vicinity in December, shortly after Payne’s funeral. He has no stable home and allegedly entered Buckinghamshire on December 10, going to a location where he thought Cole might be.
Bannister also attempted to communicate with Cole, 41, in violation of the restraining order. He has since confessed to three breaches of this order and has returned to prison, awaiting another hearing on January 30.
Previously, in 2012, Bannister admitted to manslaughter after fatally assaulting Rajendra Patel at a YMCA shelter in Croydon, south London. Patel suffered severe injuries and passed away the day following the incident due to complications related to his injuries.
