If you’re not obsessed with “The Summer I Turned Pretty” cast yet, prepare for that to change immediately — and if you already are, welcome home. The Amazon Prime Video series, based on the series of novels by author Jenny Han, is stacked with talented newcomers, including Lola Tung (Isabel “Belly” Conklin), Christopher Briney (Conrad Fisher), Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah Fisher), David Iacono (Cam), and Elsie Fisher (Skye). The 20-something actors are the perfect group to illustrate Belly’s coming-of-age story as she grapples with a love triangle and the death of her family friend, Susannah Fisher.

“By the first day [of shooting], it felt like we’d known each other for years.”

While filming seasons one and two in Wilmington, NC (the location selected to portray the fictional town of Cousins Beach), the stars developed tight friendships that mirror the ones their characters share on screen. In fact, most of the main cast arrived in North Carolina a few weeks before season one production officially began to get to know each other. Briney previously reflected on the experience with POPSUGAR, telling us, “It was such a blessing to be able to make those actual friendships and to have time, because they gave us time to get to know each other, spend time with each other, and actually go to the beach and get up to trouble with each other. By the first day [of shooting], it felt like we’d known each other for years.”

Casalegno echoed similar sentiments in an interview with POPSUGAR last year, reflecting on what he dubbed “one of the most fun summers” of his life. “We just had so much fun exploring our little town, our little beach town, going to the beach late at night, playing pool, going to the pool, and all kinds of fun stuff,” he said.

Since “The Summer I Turned Pretty” season two premiered on July 14, various cast members and showrunner Han have been flooding social media with juicy behind-the-scenes content, offering fans an inside peek at how much fun they had bringing the show to life. While not in character, they filmed funny TikToks together, enjoyed boat days, pulled pranks on one another, and even hit up a Dave & Buster’s to play arcade games. Catch up on all the best cast content ahead.
