Brian Cox, the hard-headed patriarch of the Roy family on the hit series “Succession,” has some strong opinions about Meghan Markle’s experience with the royal family. In an interview with Haute Living New York, he said that Meghan “clearly” had “ambitions” when joining the family. He went on to say, “The childhood dreams of marrying Prince Charming and all that s*** we see as fantasy that could be our lives in our dreams.” Cox believes that with a family as established as the royal family, there are certain expectations that must be met. He stated, “You can’t go into a system where somebody’s already been trained to behave in a certain kind of way and then just expect them to cut themselves off.”
Cox’s views are similar to those of “South Park,” which recently lampooned Meghan and Prince Harry’s demand for privacy. On top of that, Cox is not a fan of the monarchy in general. He said, “In my opinion, we shouldn’t have a monarchy. It’s not viable; it doesn’t make any sense. F**k it, move on.” It’s clear that Cox is over all things royal.
