Sometimes chemistry takes a little cooking. In the teaser for Apple TV+’s upcoming series “Lessons in Chemistry” — based on the novel of the same name that became an instant bestseller in 2022 — Brie Larson stars as Elizabeth Zott, a brilliant scientist in the 1950s whose career is derailed because of her sexist colleagues. When she’s fired from her lab, she takes a job as a host of a TV cooking show, which gives her a voice in the homes of women — and their husbands — everywhere. The show preview was released on April 20 and also features actor Lewis Pullman, who you might recognize from “Top Gun: Maverick” (or from being Bill Pullman’s son). On May 31, Apple TV+ officially set an October release date for the show.

“Lessons in Chemistry” was filmed last year and is one of many book-to-TV adaptations Apple TV+ is releasing this year. They released “The Last Thing He Told Me” in April, and dropped “City on Fire” and “Silo” this May. “Lessons in Chemistry” — which has some strong romance vibes — is author Bonnie Garmus’s debut novel.

As for Larson, the Oscar winner is having a very busy year. She appears in May’s “Fast X,” alongside Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Michelle Rodriguez, and the rest of the “family.” Then this November, she’ll reprise her role as Captain Marvel in “The Marvels,” teaming up with Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan.

Ahead, here’s what else we know about “Lessons in Chemistry,” including the teaser trailer.
