Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin shared a joyous moment in a rare family portrait during the debut of their daughter Apple Martin at the renowned Le Bal des Débutantes held in Paris.
Highlights from Apple Martin’s debutante event
This elegant occasion took place at the Hotel Shangri-La and was a significant event for the 20-year-old, who shone in a custom baby blue gown by Valentino.
Paltrow, aged 52, took to Instagram to reflect on what she called a “wonderful long weekend in Paris.”
Alongside the ball, the family immersed themselves in the city’s cultural scene, visiting galleries with Paltrow’s mother, Blythe Danner, and enjoying a serene moment at a park with Martin, 47, and their son, Moses, who is 18.
Apple’s exquisite gown featured layers of silk plissé chiffon adorned with a chic black bow, requiring approximately 750 hours to create.
As reported by Vogue, the college junior sported sleek, straight blonde hair and minimal makeup, enhancing the overall elegance of the evening.
The prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes is celebrated for its blend of tradition and philanthropy, gathering daughters of global celebrities and European nobility for their formal entrance into society.
Funds from this occasion support children’s health charities, such as the cardiology research unit ARCFA at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital and the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, both focused on improving pediatric care worldwide.
A magical weekend for Paltrow and Martin in Paris
Although they divorced in 2016, Paltrow and Martin have fostered a strong bond for their children’s sake.
Their united appearance at the ball symbolizes their ongoing commitment to co-parenting.
Paltrow, remarried to TV producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, has expressed her admiration for Apple, calling her “an incredible best friend” and has shared her feelings about the challenges of becoming an empty nester.
In a reflective October Instagram post, Paltrow expressed her feelings, stating: “I have waves of grief and sadness… I’m reconnecting with a part of me that I haven’t felt since my 20s before having kids.”
Currently studying at Vanderbilt University, Apple returned to Europe for the event, and her brother Moses, who is studying at Brown University, also attended.
