A popular YouTuber from Oregon, USA, with over 1.15 million followers, shared his own demise in a YouTube video titled “I’m dead.”
Paul Harrell, aged 58, recorded a posthumous video while seated on a log in a forest, the same location where he had disclosed his stage 2 pancreatic cancer diagnosis to his followers.
“If you’re seeing me, I’m no longer with you,” he conveyed to his fans in the video recorded on December 20, 2023. The six-minute clip was shared by his family following his demise on Tuesday. Harrell, a staunch advocate against guns in the United States, expressed regret for not being able to continue creating content for his fans as planned for the upcoming years.
The battle with illness
“I had envisioned continuing in this medium for the next 10 or even 15 years. Even when I got diagnosed, I had hoped we’d be together for a few more years, but it ended up being only a few months. I am sorry for that. It feels like I have disappointed everyone,” he stated.
He went on to describe his health struggle despite previously assuring fans that his cancer had been detected early and he would be around for a while. Harrell disclosed that his use of crutches due to a hip fracture was caused by his cancer spreading to his bones, leading to bone deterioration and the hip break.
Advocacy on firearms
Paul also mentioned that his brother would take over the YouTube channel and maintain the same content approach focusing on gun advocacy, a right guaranteed by the US Constitution.
