Akili McDowell, an American actor, has been arrested in Harris County on charges of robbing and killing 20-year-old Cesar Peralta in a Houston apartment parking lot shooting on July 20.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office agents confirmed the news, and a bail of $400,000 has been set by the judge for McDowell.
An alleged altercation between McDowell and the victim erupted into violence witnessed by several people.
McDowell allegedly shot Peralta and fled the crime scene. The ‘Billions’ actor is now in serious legal trouble.
“This is an unfortunate situation, and my thoughts and prayers are with Akili and those affected by this tragedy,” expressed McDowell’s manager, Jonell Whitt.
McDowell’s Arraignment Set for October 9
Police discovered Cesar Peralta’s body on the ground with gunshot wounds upon arrival. Sadly, Peralta did not survive.
McDowell is scheduled to appear in court on October 9 while investigations are ongoing. The public is urged to reach out to the Homicide Unit with any relevant information.
