Alma Cooper comes from a diverse background, being the daughter of a retired Army major and a Mexican immigrant who worked in agriculture. Despite challenges, she has risen above her circumstances to shine in the beauty pageant arena.

Her story is not only about beauty; Alma has an older sister with cognitive disabilities, which adds depth to her character. Notably, she is an alumna of the United States Military Academy with a degree in Mathematical Sciences, and also holds a Master’s in Data Science from Stanford University.

Years of Dedication to Beauty Pageants

Following her academic successes, she intended to join the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in Military Intelligence. However, her journey took a turn when she won Miss USA, leading her to compete in Miss Universe, set for November 16 at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico.

Alma holds the distinction of being the fourth Miss USA from Michigan and is the first active duty military officer from the U.S. Army to participate in the Miss Michigan USA pageant. Pageantry runs in her family, as she began competing at just eight years old, following guidance from her mother.
