Amber Williams, who was in a relationship with rapper Rich Homie Quan, has spoken out about her heartbreak after finding him unresponsive leading to his untimely passing on Thursday.
In a heartfelt Instagram Story on Saturday, Williams described the intense grief she feels as “unbearable” and indicated that this traumatic experience will remain etched in her memory.
“I’m haunted by a moment that will forever linger in my mind,” she stated in her post.
“My affection for him was always evident; I had no secrets.”
“Our home feels empty now. I’m utterly shattered. Fifteen years together, and I won’t ever be the same.”
How did Amber Williams find him?
In the 911 call, Williams explained that she initially thought Quan was merely asleep on the couch from the previous night.
She covered him with a blanket and continued with her day, even dropping her son off at school. However, upon returning home to check on him, she realized something was amiss.
Tearfully, she informed operators that she couldn’t detect a heartbeat and that he wasn’t breathing.
“When I turned him over, there was foam around his mouth,” she shared.
At just 33 years old, the cause of his death is still under investigation, with an autopsy conducted on Friday.
Many artists and sports personalities have taken to social media to express their condolences for the Atlanta native.
Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks honored Quan, highlighting his positive influence as both an artist and a person, as well as his contributions to Atlanta.
“We lost a remarkable artist but an even better human today… always remember to check on your friends,” Young stated.
