Anna Kournikova’s Health Concerns Spark Worries as She Embraces Family Life Away from the Spotlight

Anna Kournikova was a household name in women’s tennis during the 1990s, known more for her celebrity status than her achievements in competition.

Although she never reached a grand slam singles final, she became the top-earning female player in 2000 due to various endorsements, magazine features, and sponsorship deals.

Unfortunately, injuries cut her athletic career short, leading to her retirement at the young age of 21 in 2003. Since then, she has maintained a relatively private life in Miami with her partner Enrique Iglesias and their three kids.

Public Concern Over Kournikova’s Recent Appearance

Fans were surprised to see Kournikova making a rare public appearance in a wheelchair at Bal Harbour, Miami.

This marked her first sighting in almost three years, and a walking boot on her right foot clarified the reason for her wheelchair.

Accompanying her were her two daughters, Lucy, 7, and Mary, 5. Her son, Nicholas, is a twin to Lucy.

This lifestyle contrasts starkly with her earlier days of fame.

She humorously mentioned, “every country I visit, I have a different boyfriend and I kiss them all.”

In a 2019 interview with The Sun, she reflected, “It’s really strange…it feels like it happened to me but it didn’t happen to me because it was such a long time ago.”

She admitted, “Being in the spotlight since I was a child was really hard.”

Kournikova experienced pressure during her career, noting, “You’re too pretty, you can’t play.” This led to anxiety and difficulties on the court, making it hard for her to perform.

Currently, Anna lives a private life alongside Enrique, and they have not officially confirmed their marital status. Notably, she identifies herself as Anna Kournikova Iglesias on social media.

In 2022, Iglesias remarked, “We haven’t gotten married in public, but that doesn’t mean we are not married,” reflecting on their long-lasting relationship.
