Ariana Grande has raised concerns among her fans after appearing noticeably thin at the red carpet event for her upcoming project, Wicked, in Los Angeles and London.
The 31-year-old singer appeared with sunken cheeks in a striking yellow dress, revealing her sternum and shoulder bones, sparking fears that she may be experiencing malnourishment and other health issues.
Grande seemed exhausted, lacking the vitality typically seen in her or her co-stars, prompting worry among followers who noted the stark contrast to her previous appearance.
One concerned fan posted on X.com (formerly Twitter), stating, “Ariana appears very fragile and it’s concerning.”
Another commented, “While she has been slender throughout her career, her current condition is alarming; she looks so petite.”
A third fan expressed, “I adore Ariana and believe we shouldn’t criticize others for their bodies, but it’s hard to ignore that she looks unhealthy.”
Could filming be affecting her health?
Malnutrition can lead to numerous health risks beyond weight loss, including a higher likelihood of falls and a weakened immune system, making one more susceptible to infections.
Additionally, it may cause slow wound healing and could necessitate urgent medical treatment if complications arise.
Both Grande and her co-star Cynthia Erivo hinted that the intense filming schedule for Wicked has impacted their ability to maintain their health, having both contracted Covid-19 during production.
“We both got sick only once,” Grande recounted to The New York Times. “But it happened right before key scenes in the movie.”
“I was recovering just before we filmed the finale and showed up with a mask during that time.”
Erivo noted that the 2023 SAG writers’ strike offered valuable downtime, allowing her to recuperate after stressing about the demanding work schedule.
