Ben Affleck faces a challenging situation as Jennifer Lopez files for divorce, with their unresolved issues centering around their significant financial assets, particularly their $68 million mansion in Beverly Hills. Despite living separately for some time, JLo officially filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Aug. 20, sparking the beginning of a potentially complicated separation process. Complicating matters further is Affleck’s involvement with actress Kick Kennedy, with whom he has been recently linked.
Affleck’s Attempt to Distance from Kennedy
As per the Daily Mail, Affleck is trying to mitigate rumors surrounding his involvement with Kick Kennedy by stepping back from any potential romantic involvement with her. This move is to avoid upsetting his estranged wife and risking more complications in their impending divorce.
A source disclosed, “(Affleck) is attempting to disassociate but failed to realize that their past relationship was known by more than just the two of them or that they were reconnecting.” Affleck, despite prior ties with Kennedy, is also perturbed by her father, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., publicly supporting Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. This political association poses another challenge for Affleck, who aims to steer clear of political controversies leading up to the November general election.
“Given the current political environment, Ben is stepping back from Kick,” revealed an insider, as Affleck’s representative refuted any romantic involvement between Kennedy and the “Gone Girl” actor, citing concerns about Lopez’s reaction.
