After being seen living apart in recent times, it appears that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are on the verge of ending their marriage.
Although not officially divorced yet, speculations are rife that separation might be imminent, with reports suggesting that Affleck is laying the groundwork for post-divorce festivities.
Affleck apparently wants to move on from the marriage as he’s been unhappy for a while and is reportedly planning a significant celebration with friends and family post-breakup.
“Ben simply wants to escape and have some fun again, and he aims to do it with his inner circle,” an insider revealed.
“There are talks about having a grand bash at his Georgia residence, which is ironic considering it’s where he and J. Lo tied the knot.
“Alternatively, there’s discussion about Las Vegas, where they got married legally, as he still enjoys playing poker, as do many of his friends.
“Regardless of the location, whether it’s somewhere unrelated to his marriage like Mexico, this event may be tough for J. Lo as it might seem like a celebration of his freedom from their relationship.”
Affleck seeks support from his inner circle
With the recent challenges in his marriage to Lopez, Affleck has reportedly leaned on his close friend Matt Damon and ex-wife Jennifer Garner for assistance.
The gathering could also serve as a gesture of gratitude from Ben to them for their unwavering support.
“From his perspective, this could be a way to express gratitude to his friends who have stood by him during a difficult period,” the source added.
“He hasn’t been himself lately, being preoccupied with the breakup, and even before that, he was out of touch because he was immersed in his relationship with J. Lo. He regrets that and wants to make amends with his friends; he wants to unwind and have fun. The past months have been challenging for him, and he needs some relaxation and enjoyment.”
Lopez marked her 55th birthday by sharing a swimsuit photo on Instagram.
She marked the occasion with her son, friends, and her longtime manager, with Affleck noticeably absent, indicating that both are gradually moving forward with their lives apart.
