Ben Affleck is gearing up for his first Thanksgiving following his separation from Jennifer Lopez, focusing on spending quality time with his kids while managing a busy filming schedule.
The 52-year-old actor is currently involved in the production of the Netflix thriller RIP, which he is working on with his frequent collaborator Matt Damon. He plans to pause filming to celebrate the holiday with his family.
A source has mentioned to People that Affleck is satisfied with where he is in life right now.
“He feels very happy. He enjoys his work, and he’ll be spending Thanksgiving with his kids,” the source revealed.
Affleck shares three children—Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel—with his former wife Jennifer Garner. Living in Brentwood, Los Angeles, allows him to stay close to his family while on set. Recently, Garner was seen out with the kids, showcasing her strong connection with them.
Navigating work and family life
Affleck is fully immersed in his role on the set of RIP, a gritty crime drama he is producing through his production company, Artists Equity, which he co-established with Damon in 2022. The storyline involves Miami police officers dealing with intense challenges after finding a large sum of cash.
Pictures from earlier this week show Affleck filming an action-packed scene, wearing a police badge, while Damon was in police attire. Despite his hectic work commitments, Affleck is dedicated to maintaining time with his family.
This Thanksgiving is notably the first for Affleck since parting ways with Lopez. The couple reignited their romance in 2021, tied the knot in 2022, and separated in August, just two years after their marriage.
Previous reports indicated that Garner, who had been a supportive presence during Affleck and Lopez‘s relationship, now prefers to minimize contact with Lopez to only conversations about their children.
“Jen is no longer interested in staying in touch with JLo except for necessary matters regarding the kids,” a source divulged to DailyMail.com. “Her friends think she should have avoided getting so involved in helping JLo fix her marriage with Ben.”
