Actress Blake Lively, a dedicated fan of Taylor Swift, incorporated her admiration for the pop icon into her recent film project.
During the promotion of It Ends With Us, Lively drew comparisons between her character, Lily Bloom, and various phases of Taylor Swift’s career, illustrating how different stages of Swift’s journey align with Lily’s storyline in the movie.
During an interview with Hits Radio, Lively linked her character with three Taylor Swift eras: Fearless, Lover, and Reputation.
Lively elaborated, “Fearless signifies Lily’s younger self, or maybe Red, due to the added life experiences. However, Fearless particularly embodies her initial encounter with Ryle.”
She further explained, “Lover encapsulates the romantic phase, while Reputation parallels the more tumultuous periods in Lily’s life. It’s akin to the ‘Tortured Poets Department’ phase towards the end.”
Lively also emphasized the significance of The Tortured Poets Department, an album by Swift released in April 2024.
“This era beautifully encapsulates Taylor’s diverse storytelling styles. It amalgamates all her personal journeys, reflecting Lily’s own experiences,” Lively shared.
Lively’s bond with Taylor Swift extends beyond music admiration as they are close friends. Their camaraderie was evident as they were recently spotted together at Super Bowl LVIII, supporting Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Swift has affectionately referred to herself as the godmother of Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ children.
In May 2024, Lively and Reynolds attended Swift’s Eras Tour in Madrid with their three daughters, further showcasing their strong relationship.
Blake Lively’s acting career has been distinguished by both television and film triumphs. Renowned for her role in Gossip Girl, she has also starred in movies such as The Age of Adaline, The Shallows, and A Simple Favor.
Lively has even collaborated directly with Swift, co-writing and directing the music video for “I Bet You Think About Me.”
