Others joined in, mentioning host Jennifer Lopez as well, with another user commenting, “J Lo and Blake Shelton headlining the #AMAs in 2025 is a clear sign of a fading music industry.” Some viewers even lost all interest in the show after Shelton took the stage, with one saying, “Blake Shelton as the opening act? Nope, I’m turning this off right now,” they quipped. Ouch!

Despite the criticism, Shelton appeared to be in good spirits as he acknowledged the audience with a Memorial Day tribute following his performance. However, some of his song was muted during the livestream, which might indicate that his confidence was somewhat misplaced. Regardless, this awkward AMA performance could potentially spark Miranda Lambert, his ex, to write another hit song.
