Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham were once seen as the epitome of sibling affection, united by fond memories and their status as the sons of renowned figures David and Victoria Beckham.
However, reports suggest that their bond has significantly weakened over recent years, with a pivotal event being pointed out: Brooklyn‘s marriage to actress Nicola Peltz in 2022.
The lavish wedding held in Florida, reportedly costing around £3 million, was anticipated to be a joyful celebration for the family. Yet, sources indicate that this event marked the onset of a serious divide between the Beckham siblings, a divide that has grown since then.
Insiders familiar with the situation claim that issues emerged when Nicola allegedly snubbed Mia Regan, Romeo‘s girlfriend at the time.
Despite Mia being part of the wedding party thanks to her relationship with Romeo, Nicola reportedly ignored her, creating a disappointment that Romeo found hard to swallow.
“The wedding was a watershed moment for Romeo,” shared one insider. “He’s a genuinely nice guy who felt the drama was totally unwarranted.”
Rift deepens as the Beckham brothers grow apart
Described as focused and humble, Romeo was reportedly “furious” about how Mia was treated, particularly since she had been a consistent presence in both his life and the Beckham family.
The family, particularly David and Victoria, were said to be shocked by Nicola’s behavior, which they found “completely puzzling.”
Some analysts speculate that Nicola might have seen Mia as a potential distraction from her big moment, especially as she chose to avoid Mia throughout the entire wedding weekend.
“Can you imagine being Mia, an ordinary girl at a wedding that was entirely orchestrated by Nicola and her affluent family?” remarked a source. “It must have been incredibly uncomfortable for her, and Romeo recognized that.”
Since that incident, the brothers’ relationship has declined. “There has been an ongoing conflict between Brooklyn and Romeo for quite some time. They are not on friendly terms,” revealed a familial source. “Things have been deteriorating for a considerable period.”
Brooklyn, who once enjoyed a strong bond with his family, has reportedly distanced himself, supporting Nicola during disputes even at the risk of conflict with his parents and siblings.
Most recently, both he and Nicola opted out of David Beckham‘s 50th birthday celebrations, leading to widespread concern among the family. Romeo took center stage at those events, delivering speeches that Brooklyn might have once given.
Attempts to mend the rift have been unsuccessful. While both Nicola and Mia attended a Yves Saint Laurent event during Paris Fashion Week in 2023, as well as the premiere of David’s Netflix documentary, it was observed that their interactions were quite strained.
Complicating matters further, Nicola allegedly claimed that Romeo’s new girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, was the reason for her and Brooklyn‘s absence at David’s birthday, referencing previous events with Kim and Brooklyn.
However, insiders clarified that Kim had actually dated Rocco Ritchie, not Brooklyn, a fact that Cruz Beckham publicly corrected in a now-removed Instagram post. A family friend remarked, “Romeo and Cruz maintain a close relationship.”
For David and Victoria, witnessing the growing tension between their eldest sons has been profoundly distressing. This situation echoes David’s own falling out with his father, Ted Beckham, following Ted’s book release in 2005.
The duo did not communicate for two years but reconciled after Ted experienced a heart attack in 2007 — an event that friends hope might inspire a reconciliation in this current matter.
“David is all about peace — he and Victoria know that such tensions can arise in families,” a close source revealed. “Their hope is that one day they’ll see their son reunited with them, similar to how Ted reconciled with David.”
