Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have been together for over 12 years, but they rarely appear on the red carpet together. This is because Mendes cherishes her privacy and doesn’t feel comfortable sharing photos of them that aren’t “already out there”. In fact, the couple only appeared on the red carpet once when promoting their first film together, “The Place Beyond The Pines”.
Mendes opened up about this unique reason in response to a fan wanting her to appear on the red carpet for Gosling’s new “Barbie” film. She wrote, “But we don’t do those things together.” When asked to clarify why she didn’t feel comfortable posting images of the pair together, she wrote, “By ‘not comfortable’, I mean exposing our very private life that we value.”
The couple lead a very private life and share very little about their relationship with the world. However, Mendes seemingly confirmed that she and Gosling secretly tied the knot in an interview last year, when she referred to the actor as her “husband”. That same month, she also posted a tattoo tribute to Gosling on her inner wrist that read, “de gosling”. In Hispanic culture, women can add “de” or “of” to their last name after getting married to join the two monikers.
