Distance doesn’t always make the heart grow fonder.
Jason Oppenheim announced Wednesday that he and girlfriend Marie Lou Nurk have called it quits after 10 months of dating.
“While we still love and care about each other very much the distance between us has proven to be too great a challenge to overcome,” the “Selling Sunset” star wrote on his Instagram Story, sharing a photo of the pair watching the sunset.
“We remain close friends and continue to talk often and support each other and we want the very best for one another. We thank everyone for their support throughout our relationship.”
The 25-year-old model recently moved back to Paris after living with her 46-year-old beau in Los Angeles for a while.
In fact, Nurk recently revealed how the Oppenheim Group co-founder reacted when she told him she was leaving the States.
“The truth is, we both knew from the beginning that I would have to move back because of my job, friends, and family being here,” she said during an Instagram Q&A.
“Long distance relationships can be tough, but we’re both committed to making it work. We make sure to communicate regularly and make time for each other despite the distance.”
At the time, she said they both wanted to try and make things work because their love was “worth the effort.”
“I’m grateful to have such a supportive partner who understands my goals and passions. At the end of the day, it’s important to follow your heart and pursue your dreams, even if it means taking risks and facing challenges.”

News of their split may come as a shock to many, especially given the fact that the pair moved into an $18 million, 5,500-square-foot condo together earlier this year.
“We’re living here, I think, for many years,” the real estate mogul told People at the time. “I’ve lived in many nice places, but this is my favorite place by far.”
The Netflix star was first spotted with the model while enjoying a PDA-filled romantic getaway in Mykonos, Greece last summer.
Just one month later, the pair made their red carpet debut at the premiere of “Day Shift” in Los Angeles.
Prior to their relationship, Oppenheim dated co-star Chrishell Stause but the pair split after seventh months when they realized they had differing opinions about starting a family.
However, the exes have remained good friends, even going on double dates with their respective partners shortly after their split.
