In January, the “Like a Virgin” singer announced that she would go on a worldwide tour this year in honor of the 40th anniversary of her music career.
The 35-city trek was scheduled to kick off in North America on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada.
After several stops within the US — including New York City, Miami and Los Angeles — the tour was supposed to head to Europe on Oct. 14 before wrapping in December.
Due to high demand in ticket pre-sales, additional shows were added, according to Madonna’s official website.
Before the Grammy winner could even hit the stage, she had to postpone her highly anticipated tour due to an illness.
Page Six exclusively reported in June that Madonna was rushed to a New York City hospital and intubated for at least one night before having the tube removed.
The “Vogue” singer’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, said on Instagram at the time that his client had “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU.”

Though a source told us at the time that Madonna was now “out of the ICU,” Oseary explained in his post that she was “still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”
A source previously told Page Six that the pop star had been “strenuously rehearsing” for weeks for her tour prior to her hospitalization.
“She had been putting in 12-hour days,” a source close to production told us.
A month after her hospitalization, Madonna penned a touching tribute to her six children — Lourdes, 26, Rocco, 22, David, 17, Mercy, 17, and twins Stella and Estere, 10 — thanking them for their support amid her health scare.
“Love from family and friends is the best Medicine,” she captioned the Instagram post. “As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving……….. But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me.
“I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.”
Madonna has since been seen out and about as she recovers.
Most recently she was spotted at Beyonce’s “Renaissance” tour stop in New Jersey with her daughters Stella, Estere and Mercy.
