Cardi B has made the decision to file for divorce from Offset again, signaling the end of their seven-year relationship. Reports suggest that infidelity was not a contributing factor, rather the couple has drifted apart over their near-decade long commitment.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, shares two children with the renowned rapper despite their turbulent relationship which has seen them break up in 2018, 2020, and now in 2024.
Amid Cardi B‘s filing for divorce in July 2024, for the second time, speculations suggest that the couple’s separation is due to their growing apart rather than infidelity playing a role.
“They have drifted away from each other,” a source informed TMZ.com, with another source hinting at the split being a long time coming.
Cardi B is reportedly seeking primary custody of their two children, Kulture (born in 2017) and Wave (born in 2021), as she engages a divorce attorney to navigate the split, however, the process is said to be amicable between the pair.
Cardi B’s Foreshadowing Post
Sources reveal that the split has been looming for a while and has been brewing silently, evident from their previous divorce filing in 2020 followed by a reconciliation.
Signs of trouble might have emerged as early as December 2023 when Cardi B shared a cryptic post on social media expressing her focus on self-care and personal priorities.
“When you realize you’ve outgrown relationships,” Cardi B posted online. “I’m tired of prioritizing others’ feelings… I NEED TO COME FIRST!”
Sources also indicated to TMZ that this time, Cardi B appears resolute in her decision for divorce, signaling no room for reviving their fading relationship.
