Cardi B has voiced her outrage over a recent incident in which a prank caller made a false report to child protective services (CPS), leading to an unnecessary investigation into her family’s wellbeing.
During an Instagram Live session from her hospital bed on Monday night, the 32-year-old rapper expressed her frustrations vehemently.
Legal Action Considered
Describing the prank as “twisted,” Cardi emphasized the emotional toll it took on her family. Under her real name, Belcalis Cephus, she made it clear that she intends to pursue legal action, declaring her plan to “sue the individual responsible for this anonymous call.”
“Let me be very clear, even though I can barely breathe right now,” she stated.
“People have taken things too far when it comes to my kids.”
“I promise you I will find out who did this,” she continued, expressing her discontent over the prank call.
“Having CPS show up at my home—my secured mansion—at 11 PM while my kids are asleep because of an anonymous claim that they have been abused? Are you kidding me?”
“This is when pranks cross the line. You think it’s funny, but it’s not.”
Cardi added, “We’re the only people of color in our neighborhood, and for the cops and CPS to show up just because some idiot made an anonymous report about my children… I promise, I will sue CPS for coming to my house at any hour.”
“I’m going to get to the truth behind this. I’ll hire the best private investigator in the country because this has gone too far,” she asserted.
“Don’t mess with my role as a mother or my ex-husband’s role as a father,” referring to Offset, stating their children are off-limits.
“We don’t tolerate this. My kids are well taken care of and safe. They’ve never been harmed, regardless of how irritating they can be. I never lay a hand on my children.”
