After a tough three days of testimony in Manhattan, R&B artist Cassie Ventura wrapped up her statements on Friday in the ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering lawsuit against her former partner, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Ventura alleged that Diddy subjected her to rape, physical abuse, and blackmail, forcing her into drug-induced sexual encounters with other escorts over their decade-long relationship, according to a report by The Post.
On Friday, the singer became emotional on the witness stand while recounting the horrific sexual situations imposed by Diddy Combs, including the physical abuse she endured during these disturbing interactions.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson questioned Ventura regarding the defense’s claim that she “enjoyed” the coerced sexual scenarios in which she was made to sleep with male escorts under Combs’ watchful eye.
“What would you say about a person urinating in your mouth while you’re on the floor?” Johnson prompted, leading to an immediate objection from the defense, which was sustained, causing Ventura to weep.
Despite her tears, Ventura continued to respond as Johnson inquired how often Combs pressured her to have sexual relations while she was afflicted with a urinary tract infection.
“Often,” she replied.
When asked how she felt about being struck by Combs during these sexual episodes, Ventura responded: “I felt worthless. Like I was garbage. He treated me like I didn’t matter. Just nothing. Absolutely nothing.”
Cassie Ventura recognized as a pivotal witness
Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, characterized Ventura, 38, as the “most vital witness”, as the expectant mother of two—currently eight months pregnant—had to read out loud numerous shocking, intimate messages exchanged between her and Combs during their relationship under questioning from another of her legal representatives, Anna Estevao.
Combs, 55, has denied all charges, which include conspiracy to commit racketeering, two counts of sex trafficking through coercion, and two counts related to prostitution facilitation.
If found guilty, he could face life imprisonment.
The proceedings are not being broadcast, as recording devices are prohibited within the federal courtroom.
“Very difficult but empowering experience”
Cassie Ventura described her time on the witness stand as “very difficult,” but also “incredibly empowering and healing for me,” in a statement released by her legal team after her testimony.
“I hope that my experiences can inspire strength and give a voice to other survivors, encouraging those who have suffered to speak out and begin the process of healing,” Ventura shared, as she nears the end of her pregnancy.
As I heal more, my memories resurface. The remembrance is vital, and I vow to never forget. I’m thankful for my family and advocates for their steadfast support, and I deeply appreciate the kindness I’ve received. I’m relieved to close this chapter of my life, and as I focus on my upcoming motherhood, I request privacy for myself and my growing family.
Cassie Ventura to receive $10 million from hotel after abuse incident
Ventura disclosed that she is expected to receive a $10 million settlement from the hotel where Diddy Combs violently assaulted her in a widely publicized incident.
She informed the jury that negotiations are underway with the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, and that a $10 million settlement has been tentatively agreed upon.
The founder of Bad Boy Records was seen in a 2016 video violently attacking Ventura, which CNN aired last year.
