Last summer, after a lengthy relationship of 13 years, Charles Spencer and his former spouse, Karen Villeneuve, announced their divorce. This marked Charles’s third attempt at securing a lasting marriage. Not long after, the 9th Earl Spencer has been spotted with a new partner, significantly younger by 18 years.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Spencer has openly discussed his relationship with Cat Jarman, a 42-year-old physician. He shared, “I have outgrown the idea of romantic gestures. The best way to describe our connection is that I can truly be myself around her. She understands who I am, without any masks. I can be genuine, and she encourages my best qualities,” he stated.
Charles Spencer shares the benefits of dating a younger partner
Spencer and Jarman met in 2021 while in Northamptonshire, forming a close friendship that eventually led them to collaborate on a podcast, ‘The Rabbit Hole Detective’. This partnership has allowed them to showcase a different side to Lady Di’s brother.
As the relationship evolved, Spencer admitted he was surprised by this new connection. “I had no idea I could have something like this, especially since I had never dated someone younger before and was still ending a marriage,” he revealed to the Daily Mail.
One significant advantage of his current relationship, according to Spencer, is the authenticity it offers him, complemented by the vibrant energy of his younger partner. “For instance, instead of just lounging at our hotel after arriving at this festival, we decided to explore a lagoon today. It’s refreshing to be with someone who seeks out new experiences,” Spencer expressed.
