Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have decided to part ways after being together for seven years, ending their engagement.
A source revealed to the Daily Mail that they have come to terms with the relationship being over and feel it’s time to move on.
Speculation arose when Johnson was absent from Martin’s European tour for Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’.
Recently, she was spotted in Malibu, California without her engagement ring which she had been wearing since 2020, although it’s unknown when Martin proposed.
Martin and Johnson started dating in 2017 after Martin’s split from Gwyneth Paltrow. They have a daughter, Apple, 20, and son, Moses, 18.
After a brief separation, they reunited in 2019. Johnson publicly acknowledged Martin’s positive influence on her during a tough period of depression in November 2023.
She attributed her recovery to him, stating he helped her through a challenging time.
Johnson and Paltrow share a friendly bond
While with Martin, Johnson shared a close friendship with Paltrow, which garnered attention.
There were even photos of them holding hands together last year.
Paltrow and Martin tied the knot in 2003 and had two children before parting ways amicably in 2014, finalizing their divorce a year later.
