In her video, Romano shared that the outing was meant to be a special surprise for Rooney’s birthday.
“Then I got hit in the eye. It was quite unpleasant,” Romano remarked, expressing her discomfort at the start of the video.
“I got struck here. There’s still something lodged there,” she said, indicating a swollen area beneath her eye filled with blood.
“There’s a piece here,” Romano noted, gesturing to her face, “and another mark here,” she added, pointing to a spot on her forehead.
Romano also lifted her hair to reveal a cut on her forehead, expressing gratitude to the first responders, stating, “They truly are the superheroes who assist us during our most vulnerable times.”
Romano shared his appreciation for the medical treatment he received at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Texas.
“What a harrowing experience last night,” he remarked. “Things are improving now. I was shot in the face but I’m grateful to be alive. Appreciate every moment.”
A Traumatic Experience for Christy Carlson Romano
Romano went into detail about the distressing day he faced last Friday.
“However, another nearby group shot unsafely and hit me in the face,” he recounted.
The star of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” noted that her husband acted swiftly, assessing her condition and taking her to the hospital. She was shot in five areas, with one shot narrowly avoiding her right eye.
“Sadly, a fragment got lodged behind my eye, and surgery to remove it is currently too risky. The doctors will keep a close watch on me,” Romano explained, mentioning that her vision is normal for now.
Reflecting on the incident, she expressed her gratitude for being alive and her love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends.
“Life flashed before my eyes. Cherish those close to you because everything can shift unexpectedly,” Romano urged.
