David Hasselhoff, aged 72, is making headlines due to two alarming incidents that have left his fans concerned. Last March, his ex-wife, Pamela Bach, tragically passed away, and recently, the former star of ‘Baywatch’ was spotted in a wheelchair at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Page Six shared photos of Hasselhoff, accompanied by his current spouse, Hayley Roberts, in a wheelchair shortly after returning from a trip to Cancun. This sighting raised eyebrows, as there had been no previous indication of any health issues for the actor.
Why David Hasselhoff was seen using a wheelchair
In response to the public’s concern, Hasselhoff addressed the speculation regarding a sudden decline in his health. He clarified, as reported by Page Six, that the wheelchair was simply due to the fact that he is scheduled for knee surgery next week.
This seemingly minor issue is unrelated to any chronic illness or his past struggles with alcoholism. For instance, in 2007, a widely circulated video showcasing him inebriated received heavy backlash.
The upcoming surgery comes at a particularly emotional time for him, as he has been deeply affected by the loss of his ex-wife. He released a statement saying: “Our family is profoundly saddened by Pamela Hasselhoff’s passing. We appreciate all the love and support we’ve received during this challenging period, but ask for privacy as we mourn and adjust to this hardship.”
