A newly launched hotline for victims connected to the Sean Diddy Combs scandal received an overwhelming response, with 12,000 calls in just one day, averaging around 500 calls every hour. Attorneys are urging those affected to step forward.
Currently, there are over 120 accusations against the music mogul, who is in custody awaiting trial. The allegations include physical, mental, and sexual abuse over the past two decades, with the youngest victim reported to be only nine years old.
In light of this significant scandal, attorney Tony Buzbee has established a hotline to encourage victims and others with knowledge of the situation to share their stories.
According to Buzbee, “When I announced that I would take action on these cases, the response was incredible. The volume of calls has been both astonishing and shocking.”
He added, “Our daunting task now is to carefully process each call to identify true victims and witnesses and gather necessary evidence.”
Buzbee hints at “shocking” names to be revealed
Since the hotline’s inception, there have been 15,200 calls recorded, although it’s unclear how many are legitimate allegations versus prank calls.
Buzbee and his team are expected to start filing legal procedures against Combs within the next month, supported by a team of about 100 people who are meticulously reviewing the cases, as Diddy remains in jail after being denied bail twice.
The attorney, formerly a mayoral candidate in Houston, cautioned that the identities unveiled could surprise the public.
“The names we are going to disclose, provided our investigators verify the information, will astonish you,” Buzbee stated during a press conference. “I’m referring not only to those who were cowardly bystanders but also those who actively took part and encouraged such behavior. They know who they are.”
