Emma Dumont, a notable performer from the hit film ‘Oppenheimer’, has publicly identified as trans masculine non-binary and has chosen a new name for close circles.
The 30-year-old actress portrayed Cillian Murphy’s character’s sister-in-law, Jackie, in the movie and made this revelation through an Instagram Story. They have opted for the pronouns “they/them” and will now be known as Nick Dumont.
Despite the personal name change, Dumont will still perform under the name Emma in their professional career.
A representative mentioned, “They identify as a trans masculine non-binary individual. Their professional name remains Emma Dumont, but they will go by Nick in personal settings.”
Dumont last updated their Instagram account on December 3 with a series of images featuring themselves but has not yet commented on the recent changes.
The term transmasculine encompasses various identities of those assigned female at birth (AFAB) who align with masculinity, including transgender males and AFAB nonbinary individuals.
Dumont’s acting career
Emma Noel Roberts, now identified as Dumont, has amassed more than 25 acting credits since their debut in 2009. They are widely recognized for their role in Christopher Nolan’s 2023 film, ‘Oppenheimer’, which tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer.
In addition, Dumont is known for playing the character Polaris in ‘The Gifted’ and for appearing in an episode of ‘Pretty Little Liars’ in 2017.
The performer is also slated to appear as Emma Dumont in the forthcoming thriller titled ‘New Me’.
