Feud between Quentin Tarantino and George Clooney: Exchanging Insults

Quentin Tarantino's insults ignite feud with George Clooney: "All right, dude, f*** off"

Renowned director Quentin Tarantino has sparked some tension with actor George Clooney. In a recent GQ interview alongside Brad Pitt, Clooney shared that Tarantino’s remarks about his status as a movie star did not sit well with him.

Clooney recounted, “Quentin said some things about me in a recent interview that annoyed me. He was discussing movie stars, mentioned [Pitt], and when asked about me, he replied, ‘He’s not a movie star.’ He even went on to say, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium.’” Pitt found humor in Clooney’s retelling of the incident.

Reacting to Tarantino’s comments, Clooney responded, “‘Since the millennium?’ That’s basically my entire career.” He asserted his readiness to banter back at Tarantino, stating, “So now I’m like, all right, dude, forget it. I don’t mind bantering. He gave me a hard time.

Despite the exchange, Clooney acknowledged their shared fortune in collaborating with exceptional directors, saying, “We’re fortunate to have worked with such great directors. The director and the screenplay are what keep you going.

Clooney asserts his stardom: “I am a movie star!”

It’s interesting to note that Clooney’s acting career spans back to the 1980s, and he has had significant success post-2000, starring in movies like The Perfect Storm, the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy, Gravity, and Hail Caesar!. Clooney previously collaborated with Tarantino, appearing in the 1996 film From Dusk Till Dawn.

Pitt, who also starred in Tarantino films like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, had positive feedback on Tarantino’s acting, describing him as “pretty good” in Dusk. Clooney, however, was a bit critical, commenting, “He was okay in it.” Pitt added, “There’s a particular scene where he really excels.”

Despite the tension sparked by Tarantino’s remarks, there seems to be mutual respect between Clooney and Tarantino for each other’s work and the directors they’ve had the honor to collaborate with.
