The lengthy divorce between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has finally concluded, just before the end of 2024, on December 30, following numerous challenges over the past eight years.
Many reminisced about the remark from Jennifer Aniston, made at the time when Jolie had just started her romantic relationship with Pitt, unaware of how things would evolve.
Aniston’s comments gained traction in the media, appearing almost prophetic concerning the events that would unfold in Pitt’s life.
The two ladies met back in 2004 at the Warner Bros. studio in Burbank, while Aniston was filming for Friends, and Pitt was preparing for ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’. Aniston recounted in a 2005 Vanity Fair interview that she introduced herself and wished Jolie well, saying, “Brad is really looking forward to working with you. I hope you have a great time!”
In January 2005, Aniston and Pitt’s marriage ended as he developed feelings for Jolie during the filming of the movie. Despite his claims of no romantic involvement at the time, their relationship was irreparably damaged.
Aniston’s comment took on an ironic tone
Afterward, Pitt and Jolie enjoyed a relationship that lasted years before finally tying the knot in 2014. They expanded their family, initially adopting three children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, who are now 23, 20, and 19, respectively, and later had three biological children: Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox, who are currently 19 and 15.
However, their happiness was short-lived; in 2016, Jolie accused Pitt of being abusive towards her and their children, prompting her to file for divorce post a heated altercation on their private jet.
As of 2025, it is reported that Angelina and her children have moved out of Pitt’s properties, focusing on finding their peace, while the only matter left to be resolved between them is the ownership of their vineyard and winery in France.
